Prune Belly Syndrome at the Adult Age : A Case Report


Abstract
A 25-1year old man was diagnosed as having prune belly syndrome, a deficiency of abdominal musculature, abnormalities of urinary tract and bilateral cryptorchidism. The patient was asymptomatic until the diagnosis was made at the age of 25 years.
This
syndrome is usually diagnosed during the neonatal period and the mortality approximates 50% within 2 years, with real failure the most common cause of death. Patients with lesser involvement was survive until adulthood, but there are few reported
examples. Discussed here is the clinical features and approach to management of this syndrome.
